Squashy Birds – Privacy Policy
Squashy Birds is a game where you tap to snap the pipes shut and squash the pesky birds. It is free and supported by advertising, and I do not run any servers for it. This page explains what the game keeps on your phone and which services it uses.
Stored on your phone
Your scores, settings and progress are kept on your phone. If you have Android backup turned on, Android may include them in your Google backup, which is managed by Google and not by this app.
Services the game uses
The game does not ask you to create an account with me. It uses these Google services, which may collect information that can identify your device:
- Google Play Services: runs Google Play features, including the optional Google Play Games sign-in for leaderboards. If you sign in, your scores are sent to your Google Play Games account.
- Google AdMob: shows the advertising. It may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and details about your device and how you interact with ads, to choose and measure ads.
- Firebase Analytics: counts how the game is used, such as which screens are opened, using an anonymous identifier for the installation.
- Firebase Crashlytics: reports errors, with details such as your device model, Android version and the state of the game at the time.
These services handle that information under their own privacy policies. I use the reports to fix problems and improve the game, and I do not sell your information or use it to identify you.
Advertising
You can reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Google settings. A one-time purchase to remove ads, if you choose it, is handled by Google Play; the game does not receive your payment details, only whether the purchase has been made.
Permissions
The game asks for permission to use the internet and see network status, so that ads and the services above can work, to read your advertising ID, and to vibrate. It does not ask for access to your contacts, files, photos, microphone, camera or location.
Log data
If the game has an error, the services above may collect data from your phone called log data, such as your IP address, device name, Android version, the game's configuration, the time and date, and other statistics.
Children
Squashy Birds is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given information to a service used by the app, contact me and I will help.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
